Hey, there overnight preschool teachers! I never thought I’d be a preschool teacher, but here we are! As much as I’ve tried my WHOLE life to not teach, fate as come my way. [My mom was a teacher for 30+ years and she’s still substituting as I write this. Her mother, my grandmother, was also a teacher for 30+ years. So, the teaching bug has bitten me.]

Since we are in a pandemic currently, I wasn’t not completely comfortable with sending her back to the school environment. Last semester was a disaster with virtual, so I just said I would go ahead and teach her myself.

Sweet T actually started homeschooling on August 3rd. I wanted to get a head start on it because I had the time and I didn’t want to feel rushed getting her prepared for the school year.

Now that I have setup upstairs for her learning experience, she retains the information better and also enjoys it! On days that I get busy with clients and blogging, I use these resources to keep her engaged like ABCMouse.

Our Daily Schedule for Preschool At Home

So, it’s been so far so good over here with homeschooling Sweet T. She’s learning and grasping on to the content in front of her and it’s also been fun for me! (Surprisingly!)

I noticed a lot of moms may be thinking they have to do the regular school hours while teaching at home. But I’m here to tell you, YOU DON’T! This is probably the first mistake to your child not enjoying their homeschooling experience and you calling it quits.

What we fail to realize is that while in Daycare or Pre-Kindergarten, the children only do about 2-3 hours of actual school work and most of their learning is through playing or craft activities. Their attention spans are very short anyway and they crave engaging and fun interactions.

So I decided to take this same approach with homeschool because this mama is busy and time is precious.

So I though I’d share my daily schedule. Every homeschooling mom’s schedule will be different, so don’t stress about it. Do what is best for your family!

Here’s what we do:

This is our FULL daily schedule. We do this schedule at least 3-4 times a week. On the other days, we may go outside and explore or do a craft activity.

I hope this helps you with your journey through homeschooling your children! Be sure to follow my pinterest board for great resources and free worksheets for your toddler.
