Hey guys! I haven’t updated you guys in a while with my entrepreneurial journey. First of all, I do appreciate that so many of us are entrepreneurs now. I also appreciate those who put in their work for their 9-5 and hustle when they get home.
I’ve realized that having multiple incomes is just a way of life at this point. There’s no way the average American can live comfortably in this country without having two jobs or owning a business. Of course, this is based on individual goals your family has, but it’s pretty evident that having a backup plan is best. We can tell that by looking into what is happening right now in this country.
When I created my consulting business in 2013, it was out of desperation, honestly. I couldn’t land a job in Houston to save my life, so I took Professional Courses to get my Web Development and Web Design Certification. I had always wanted to work in the creative space but it just seemed like no one wanted to give me a chance.
So, I made the decision to give myself a chance. To be the woman I had always visualized I could be. It has been such a journey and I’ve learned so much along the way. It has been rewarding, scary, doubtful and hopeful! Believe people when they say, this type of life is not for the weak!
I must admit though, that I do fall into wanting to have that security of a job. But then, I think about my experience and I wouldn’t change working for myself for anything. Plus, having the flexibility to be with my daughter has been amazing.
Right now, I have clients for my Web and Digital Marketing Consulting business. I also have my clothing brand, Basicalle, that has been getting a lot of buzz! (You should check it out if you haven’t!) I am gearing up for my #BasicalleBox launch and can’t wait to show them!
