I have been natural for 7 years now. It has been a LONG journey, but I’ve loved being free from the harsh chemicals. Natural hair has allowed me to learn my texture and what products are best for my hair.
I suffer from dryness, so moisture and sealing are my bread and butter. I’ve also learned a lot about styling my hair. I see so many natural hair gurus on Instagram with the most beautiful twist outs and roller sets. My hair ‘looks thick’ but I really don’t have a lot of strands, so my hair never looks good in twist outs.
I always have you do wash and go’s and stretch my hair by pulling it back into a ponytail and banding the loose ends. It sounds more complicated than it is, but it’s really easy and I only do it when it’s completely wet.
Throughout the week, my hair grows out instead of hangs, so I just put it into thick twists and pull them back into a ponytail at night. It stretches more and usually has a bit of curl at the ends. I try my best not to rewet it unless it feels dry and gets super tangled.
