My bathroom counter holds a lot of memories. I do her hair here and we sing songs here. Our bathroom is a beacon of our home.  This cheerful little girl loves brushing her teeth too. We introduced a toothbrush to her at a early age and now as a toddler she loves it! Here are some tips we did to get her to love brushing her teeth.

Let your toddler watch you brush your teeth.

She used to stare at us in amazement when we brush her teeth. She was so curious and wanted to know what it was. We just continued to explain to her what we were doing and showed her how to do it. We also introduced the “This Is The Way We Brush Our Teeth” video which help a lot!

Buy the smallest tooth brush head you can find.

We were gifted a really cute toothbrush that we used a soon as Sweet T sprouted her first teeth. Although it was cute, the brush head was too big for her mouth and she had a couple of choking accidents. We found this smaller brush head from Crest Kids with Elmo and she loves it.

After you brush their teeth, let them try.

Every morning, I brush her teeth to make sure they are clean. Then afterwards, I give her the toothbrush so that she can try. This way, she knows and learns that she can do it herself. She’s always happy when she tries to brush her on teeth.

She’s learning all the steps it takes to brush your teeth, but we still have a good ways to go. Our next steps, are teaching her how to apply toothpaste and spit toothpaste out after brushing. We are getting there!

Now we just have to get her to not freak out when getting her hair washed! If you have any tips, please share!
