fishingwithdaddy

Hubby has had the fishing bug ever since he went on a fishing trip with my dad and father-in-law. So he asked if I wanted to come along this weekend to fish with him. I figured it would be a nice adventure for Sweet T. I remember going with my dad as a little girl too.

We went to La Porte, TX to Sylvan Beach Pier and it was gorgeous. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place and I’ve been in the Houston area for 6 years. We had such a great time! With not much time to think of what to pack for our fishing trip, these are definitely the 4 must have supplies we needed for Sweet T to have a successful day at the pier.

Wagon

With all the equipment and luggage we already have to bring when have a kid anyway, we needed some extra support with this fishing trip! Our wagon was so helpful with carrying literally everything we needed. Our fishing poles, our cooler with snacks and drinks, and our chairs gave us the extra hands we needed. We bought this affordable one here.

Hat

Along with sunscreen, we brought her a hat too. She wasn’t feeling it much, but we had it just in case she felt too hot.

First Aid Kit

As for any trip, we wanted to be prepared for anything! And of course, Mommy and Daddy both hooked their own fingers while trying to put the bait on the hook, so it was definitely helpful to have it!

Hand Sanitizer

With touching the bait and fish and just being outside period, hand sanitizer is a must! Our hands felt sticky and gross, but we had bottled water to rinse our hands and hand sanitizer.
