Hey ladies! So I’m super, super, super excited to share with you some of the unconventional learning activities that I stumbled upon this summer for Sweet T. We started preschool in August, so we’ve been on a roll with our reviewing of all the information she learned last year. She’s really been taking it all in which I’m happy about and my patience has been so much better.

I’m a new home school mom because of this crazy pandemic we are in. And this mama was lost and clueless for a while. But since I gathered my thoughts and ideas and made her a learning space in our home I’m happy and more creative than ever with her learning!
Measuring Tape Game
During early summer we updated our foyer, master bathroom and kitchen. We were measuring everything and making sure we wanted the items we picked out. Of course, as a curious toddler, Sweet T wanted to make sure she was involved.
So, we decided to try this game with her often for her to measure small things around the house. This activity covers the recognition of numbers, counting, and measurements (smallest to biggest).

Dominoes Game
Recently, Sweet T has been pulling out all of the games around the house to play because – we are in a pandemic. HA! So, my husband taught her how to play Dominoes! It allows her to think and count the notches on each domino and to know where to put each domino during the game.
This is such a great idea for toddlers to learn colors, counting, and counting by 5s!

Go Fish Card Game
Now, this was a gem I stumbled upon while on vacation with our family. The Airbnb we stayed in (that I thoroughly cleaned!) had playing cards for us to play with and use. Sweet T found them first and wanted to play so I thought about the easiest game she could catch onto and it was Go Fish! Genius right?!
This game hit on colors, shapes, numbers, counting, number recognition, letter recognition and matching!

These are fun (especially for you!) ways for preschoolers to hit all of the math requirements for Kindergarten. I just wanted to share these easy and great games to get your child learning on the weekend as well. Please be sure to share these tips with other moms! I hope this helps!
