Currently, I am in New Orleans watching the football game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Mister and I are at a restaurant called Ole Saint by Duece McAllister near Bourbon Street. My throat is hurting from screaming at the TV and plus the weather is beginning to be cooler. FALL IS OFFICIALLY HERE and cold medicine is on deck.

I had such a hard time styling these jeans with these boots. The pant leg is a bit wider than I would like, more like a true boot cut. I prefer skinny jeans when I wear boots because I have  skinny ankles and it makes me appear taller. Then it hit me: Fold the cuff. Perfect solution for my style dilemma.

Name a time when you came across a style dilemma. How did you solve it?

OMG!! I’ve missed you guys so much! First things first. January was such a busy month for me. I helped with hosting a lovely engagement party. It was such a beautiful experience. The couple is set to have a their wedding next year and planning the engagement party was just a taste of how the wedding is going to be. All in all, we had such a beautiful time.

The following weekend, I traveled to New Orleans to watch another bride find the perfect dress for her big day. It was a quick trip and along the way I became so sick that the next two weeks after that I was literally miserable. And of course, work started to pick up as well as my business. PLUS, we bought a house! *ahhhh* And picking out paint colors, appliances, packing, and moving is another stress of it’s own. More info on the house stuff later!

I’ve had my eye on this coat for some time now and I was bummed that I couldn’t get it in the tan color. This coat has been everywhere and on everyone’s blog, but was such an amazing price that I couldn’t past it up. These jeans are such a classic and comfortable fit. They are a bit high-waisted which gives great support. If you are looking for the perfect fitted jeans, take a trip to Gap and make the investment.

I hope you all are having a good New Year so far. Have you all had an eventful beginning of the year? If so, I’d love hear in the comments!

Simply Chic

Fur Vest: Cotton On (similar) | Knit Sweater: H&M (similar) | Cropped Pants: Zara (similar) | Pumps: BCBGeneration (here) | Bracelets: Kate Spade, BCBGeneration | Lipstick: RiRi Woo by Mac
I love how this look came together. If you haven’t noticed, I have really been stretching my wardrobe. I’ve worn this fur vest and these cropped pants in different ways. Last year, I stretched my closet as must as possible. I’m actually proud of myself. I was on a major budget and quite frankly, I had no extra money for scratching my shopping itch. But, I’m understanding the concept of shopping for quality. I have been refraining from buying items that I know won’t last. No matter where it is from. That also plays into par with my frustrations with buying things online. I need to feel and touch the garment before purchasing. Does anyone else suffer from that?
Any who, the frigid cold is slightly gone now and I’m happy to be able to go outside without wearing my trench or any coat. Hope you all have a brilliant week!
